Many know her as Fa Mulan from Disney’s 1998 animated film, Mulan; she went on to voice Fa Mulan in Mulan II, 2018’s Ralph Breaks the Internet, and even returned for a live action cameo in 2020’s Mulan.
She joined the Marvel universe in 2013 as Melinda May – the hard on the outside, soft on the inside, Shield agent. She was easily one of the most powerful woman on screen, and along with her co-star, Chloe Bennet, they made a positive impact for television characters of Asian descent.
And more recently, Wen has taken on another extremely popular franchise: Star Wars; as Fennec Shand in the The Mandalorian. She has even voiced her character in the animated series, The Bad Batch. When she received a box with the LEGO logo on it, she thought it was from friends –
But when another showed up, she learned it was from the actual Lego Team.
And she was so excited to get her character in Lego form. Who wouldn’t be?!
August 29th, 2021 – the Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards presented The Mandalorian Best Streaming Drama Series. Ming-Na has continued to add amazing and inspirational characters to her repertoire. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to find me a Fennec minifigure for my collection.
